♦ Step 1 – Complete your NWSA/AmeriCorps application in one of the following two ways:

Option A:  **PREFERRED**
♦ Online at the AmeriCorps website

To apply using our online AmeriCorps website, please use the following steps:

♦ Go to My Americorps.

♦ Click on "Apply to Serve" at the bottom of the page.

♦ Complete the requested profile information.

♦ Once you have received your account information via email, log into the My AmeriCorps portal and use the navigation pane on the left to complete your application and reference information.

♦ When your application is complete, click "Search Listings".

♦ Type "Northwest Service Academy-MAC" into the "Program Name" field (ignore all the other fields).

♦ Click "Search", click on the listing you are interested in.

♦ Click on the listing you are interested in.

♦ Click "Apply Now" at the bottom of the page.

OR  

Option B:

♦ Use NWSA/AmeriCorps forms and submit them via email, mail or fax, to the center you are applying to:

AmeriCorps Application - One application can be used for all of our positions.

Reference Form - You will need two written references to complete a Member or Intern application and three written references to complete a Leader application.

♦ Step 2 – Submit these additional materials promptly (email preferred):

Field Team Applicants:
1.  A resume and a cover letter for each position in which you are interested.
2.  Certification Form - This document must be mailed to the NWSA office with an original signature (email or fax not accepted).
Leader Applicants Only:
3.  Email your answers to the following questions:
    a.  Briefly describe your experience supervising, leading and teaching others
    b.  Briefly describe a problem you encountered in your prior experience and how you
         addressed the situation.
4.  Leader positions require three written references.  Please have a third reference complete the form available through your AmeriCorps applicantion, or use the Reference Form above.

For Intern Positions:
1.  A resume and a cover letter for each position in which you are interested.
2.  Certification Form - This document must be mailed to the NWSA office with an original signature (email or fax not accepted).
3.  A copy of your driving abstract from your local DMV.  Your abstract must go back at least three years, which may mean you need to submit additional abstracts for other states you have been a resident of within that timeframe.
4.   A copy of your insurance policy coverage for your personal vehicle.  Our Intern Program requires your personal automobile insurance to have a minimum liability coverage of $100,000 for bodily injury per person in an accident; $300,000 for all bodily injuries in an accident; and $50,000 for property damage in an accident.  If you do not currently meet this minimum coverage requirement, any offers made for our Intern positions are contingent upon you raising your minimum coverage to meet our program requirements.
