
Columbia Gorge Farm Wheel
Community members are invited to "get their wheels turning" on two educational bike tours of the finest agricultural land in the Columbia River Gorge.
Presented by Northwest Service Academy's Mt. Adams Center , the leisurely-paced rides will cover 15-20 miles of scenic beauty in Hood River, OR on July 15th and August 12th, 2006 and in Trout Lake, WA on July 22nd and August 19th, 2006. Both rides will take place between 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m
The tours, titled "The Columbia Gorge Farm Wheels" will visit a variety of farming operations including dairies, orchards, herb farms, wineries and more. In addition to connecting with local farmers in person, participants will also be joined by historians, archeologists, naturalists and geologists who will share their expertise.
The cost per ride is $45 which includes lunch and basic bike support. Each Farm Wheel can only accommodate up to 25 riders, so individuals and groups are encouraged to register soon.

The Columbia Gorge Farm Wheels tours will raise money for the Mt. Adams Center (MAC) Educational Garden Project, a living learning lab for students, teachers and other community members who live in Oregon and Washington. The Project promotes a strong local food economy by educating people about how to grow food and the benefits of connecting with food producers close to home.
